Homocodes of the tax code: the 127 variants
Homocode occurs when two people would have the same tax code. In this case the Revenue Agency replaces one or more digits with letters. Enter a code below to see the base code and all 127 variants.
How homocode works
Digits can be in seven positions (year, day and cadastral code). Each can be replaced by a letter: 0→L, 1→M, 2→N, 3→P, 4→Q, 5→R, 6→S, 7→T, 8→U, 9→V. The combinations are 2⁷−1 = 127 and the control character is recalculated for each.
Which variant is mine?
The tool cannot know: only the Revenue Agency knows the assigned variant. Check the health card or the official service of the Revenue Agency.
Homocode for people born abroad
It occurs more often for people born abroad; see the guide for foreigners. You can also return to the online tax code calculator.
