How to calculate the tax code online
Enter surname and name as on your documents, enter the date of birth and select gender. In the place of birth field, type the municipality: the suggestion will show province and cadastral code. If you were born abroad, select the country. Press "Calculate" and copy, print or share the result via link.
How the tax code is composed
Defined by Ministerial Decree of 12/03/1974: three letters from the surname, three from the name, two digits of the year, one letter for the month, two digits for the day (+40 for females), the cadastral code of the place of birth and a control character. In the result each group has its color and explanation.
Homocodes: what it means
If two people have the same code, the Revenue Agency replaces one or more digits with letters. There are 127 possible variants and the tool lists them all. Only the Revenue Agency knows which one was assigned.
Inverse tax code, verification and control
With the inverse tax code you can derive date of birth, gender and place of birth. The tax code verification checks format and control character and indicates the erroneous part; if two people share the same code, consult the homocode of the tax code. For many codes together you will need the multiple calculation from CSV file.
